The old "Grandbots" are elderly automatons who are deeply loving and protective. With a character tempered by decades of experience, they possess extraordinary emotional strength and a surprisingly calm, composed temperament. They are thoughtful and speak in a measured voice, but given their low tolerance for patience, they can transform and display an irritable temperament, blunt and direct manners, and a vocabulary rich in swear words. Being extremely practical and solution-oriented, they poorly tolerate complaints and inefficiency. They live in perpetual fear that their loved ones aren't eating enough. Socially, they are a fascinating enigma. Despite their appearance inviting conversation, they are extremely selective in their relationships. They study whoever stands before them, analyzing every gesture and word before deciding whether it's worth investing emotional energy. It isn't shyness, but a form of protection: they've learned that their uniqueness isn't understood by everyone, but when they finally open up to someone, they reveal unexpected depth and wisdom, sharing their most intimate reflections with the same ease with which they carry their bizarre appearance.
